Our ice cream carts

THE FRISIAN

The Ice Cold Frisian was our first ice cream bike. We call him the Frisian because he was originally (60 years ago) from Friesland. We found an old photo where it is visible when it was used by ice cream factory De IJsbeer from Leeuwarden. It also fits with the fact that we bought the cart in Zwolle.

The Fries is a very robust, but also heavy, cart with its own cooling system on board. This allows us to put it on power and so it can keep ice at the right temperature indefinitely. Because of its weight, we have had an electric auxiliary motor installed in the rear wheel.

With the Fries, we can serve 4 different flavours of ice cream side by side. In addition, the cart can have 5 extra trays of 5 litres of scoop ice cream in the refrigerator.

The dimensions of this ice cream bike are: 110cm wide, 205cm high and 300cm long.

THE BELGIAN

This ice cream cart was the 2nd one we bought. From a colleague in Venlo. Originally from Belgium, the cart is also estimated to be about 50 years old.

The cart was in pretty bad condition when we bought it. Among other things, we put another awning on it, replaced the bearings and renewed the plastering. This cart does not have its own cooling system, but is cooled by 2 large metal eutectic cooling plates. With this old system, you can still easily keep the ice cream at temperature for 4-8 hours. And another advantage is that it is much lighter than De Fries.

The Belgian can serve 4 flavours of ice cream side by side. In addition, we can keep 5 extra trays of 5 litres of ice cream at temperature in the cold room.

The dimensions of this ice cream bike are: 110cm wide, 205cm high and 300cm long.

THE GAZELLE

It is difficult to get hold of nice ice cream bikes. Hence, we just built one ourselves during winter.

The chassis is a fully restored Gazelle bakfiets from 1947. The body is newly built, taking the best elements from our other ice cream bikes.

The Gazelle is similar to the Belgian, but is 20 cm shorter and a lot lighter. It has no canopy, which again makes it lighter. Moreover, this cart is more suitable for temporary placards as the sides are completely free.

The Gazelle is cooled with elements and can again hold 2x4 trays of ice of 5 litres.

The Gazelle is 280cm long, 92cm wide and 120cm high.

THE POLAR BEAR

The Feary Polar Bear is not a bicycle, but an ice cream trailer that you can hang behind your car. The big advantage of this ice cream cart is that we can transport it without the need for one of our trailers. The Polar Bear is electrically cooled and has an extra storage capacity of 16 5-litre trays of ice cream. We also use the cart as a distribution point for large orders.

As with our other carts, we can serve 4 flavours side by side from the Polar Bear.

THE DISMOUNTABLE ICE CREAM CART

We have a lot of care homes as clients. The challenge there is often that many clients are not outpatients and it is a lot of work for the care staff to bring the ice cream to the client.

For this purpose, we have developed a small ice cream cart especially for indoor use, with which the ice cream can be scooped up to the client's room.

The cart holds 10 litres of ice cream, enough for 100-120 scoops.

To make it easy to transport, it can be dismantled into three parts. This way, the cart can be transported in a normal passenger car.

THE PORTABLE ICE CREAM TRAY

Not really an ice cream cart, but another way of serving scoop ice cream.

Developed by ourselves to also serve ice cream in the rooms of residents at care institutions. But also used, for example, at fairs and events.

The portable ice-cream tray can hold two flavours of scoop ice cream. 2.5 litres of each flavour, good for about 25-30 scoops of ice cream. Along with plenty of cones.

Not really suitable for scooping a lot of ice cream per hour. But it is a unique offer that attracts a lot of attention.
