The Prodas Foundation is the umbrella organisation of 22 primary schools in the Asten-Someren-Deurne region. This year they existed for 25 years and wanted to treat all pupils and teachers to a nice ice cream.  What's more, they wanted to do it in the same week.

The challenges:

• a total of 22 schools with more than 5000 pupils and teachers
• the ice creams had to be scooped daily no later than 14:00, because after that school was out
• some schools had specific wishes for the day on which they wanted an ice cream

The advantage was that all the schools were close to each other.

Finally, we were able to make a schedule in which we could visit all schools within 1 week. In order to be able to scoop the numbers of ice creams, we chose to have only 2 flavours in the ice cream cart, so that we could scoop ice cream with 2 men at the same time. And if there were any problems, we could always use an extra ice cream bicycle for one day.

The latter was not necessary. We were able to realise the schedule almost perfectly. Only one day we were short of one tub of ice cream. The next day, an ice cream bcycle that was in the neighbourhood scooped the 40 ice creams anyway.
