The customer demand

A new client of the IJsmannetjes is a large landlord of business premises. They would like to provide scoop ice cream to all the people who worked in their premises this summer. In total they were about 80 premises, spread over a large part of the Netherlands (from Amsterdam to Born).

A few years ago we would not have dared such a campaign, but now we do. Despite the fact that, in terms of locations, it really was a very big one.

 

The planning

On this project, proper planning was essential. The client provided us with the addresses of all the properties and the expected number of employees per property. We then used Google maps and Streetview to plan which properties we could best combine on one day; in order to visit all the properties in as few days as possible.

Together with the client we made a detailed schedule of what time and how long we would be at each property. Including the exact location where the ice cream cart would be: important because it were often very large sites. The client then communicated that schedule to the tenants of the properties.

 

The result

Thus, we were able to visit all 80 properties in just 10 working days. Because the visits could be spread out over a month, we only needed to use 1 ice cream bike. Per day we visited between 3 and 15 properties.

Of course we encountered some surprises. Buildings where many more people work than expected. Companies where, despite all our efforts, the planning had not arrived. But in close cooperation with the customer, we were able to solve all this quickly and provided all employees with the promised scoop ice cream.

And the reactions were without exception positive: both regarding our ice cream scoops and the taste of our scoop ice cream.
